Following reports of a murder on Northolt Road in South Harrow on Wednesday, police have now revealed that the suspect detained has been ‘released without charge’
The Police had been notified that a man seen nearby may have been in possession of a machete, he was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody.
Superintendent Julian Morriss from the North West Command Unit said:
“A team of officers has been working around the clock to establish the circumstances which led to this man’s death and I appreciate that this has been a worrying time for the community.
“Although we await the findings of a post-mortem examination, it is strongly believed at this time that the man died as a result of an existing medical condition.
“An urgent review of local CCTV cameras took place today and at this stage officers are satisfied that there are no suspicious circumstances. We do not believe the man who died was stabbed or slashed.
“Should any further evidence come to light it will of course be examined thoroughly.”
