Wembley Police have arrested a man for stealing hundreds of pounds worth of sunglasses from clothing store TK Maxx in Wembley. The man was also in possession of pliers to ‘go equipped’. Police tweeted out the below today (10 May) at 11:50am –

“One male arrested yesterday for Shoplifting £651 worth of Sunglasses from TK Maxx and possession of Pliers for Going Equipped – male has been charged with 3 offences and will be going to Court!”

It has been reported recently that pick pocketing and theft has been on the increase with a number of large retail stores taking further counter-loss prevention measures to try and tackle the crime. CCTV, Tags, Mirrors and alarms are ways in which shoplifting can be prevented but it is still a major problem for large and especially smaller retailers. Wembley Police also arrested someone at the end of April for robbing people ‘wearing gold jewellery’. Source (twitter.com/MPSWembleyCentl)
