SIX FIRE ENGINES AND FORTY FIREFIGHTERS TACKLE WEALDSTONE FIRE

A block of flats went up in flames in Wealdstone yesterday evening (01 July).

The fire was on Peel Road in Wealdstone as a three – floor block was on fire. Six fire engines and forty firefighters attended the site attempting to tackle the blaze. London Fire Brigade confirmed that the second floor was on fire at approximately 6:30pm.

Concerned residents have taken to our Facebook group to upload videos and images of the blaze. One comment read: “Praying all the occupants are safe.” to which a reply stated: “yes looks like all occupants are safe and outside”.

There are no reported injuries at this time. Footage is also available on our Instagram page.

UPDATE from London Fire Brigade: “Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a flat in Peel Road in Wealdstone.

Half of the second floor was damaged by fire. The Brigade was called at 18:19 and the fire was under control at 19:50. Fire crews from Harrow, Stanmore, Northolt and Wembley fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
