ARMED POLICE CALLED TO WEALDSTONE FOLLOWING REPORTS OF A SHOOTING

Multiple posts, photos and video footage came in to Harrow Online this afternoon following an alleged shooting in Wealdstone.

We contacted Met Police for details on the incident, a police spokesperson said: “Police were called to a shop in Wealdstone High Street at 14:38hrs on Saturday, 6 July following reports of a shooting. Officers and armed police attended.

Evidence of firearm discharge was found and a knife was recovered nearby. There are no reported injuries. No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue.”

This follows a man in his thirties being shot dead in Wembley last night. One concerned person tweeted “2nd shooting in London in less than 24 hrs. Last night in Monks Park Wembley/Brent  now Wealdstone in Harrow. Every weekend there are teports of people getting shot or stabbed.”

There are heavy delays in the area due to the police cordoning off Wealdstone High Street. TFL Traffic News tweeted “ INCIDENT  The High Street in Wealdstone is closed in both directions at the junction of Gordon Road due to a police incident. Please use alternative routes”
