There were gunshots fired in Wealdstone in the early hours of yesterday morning (6 August) police have revealed.
We initially received reports of a police cordon in place outside a shop in Wealdstone. Grant Road was completely closed off to the public as police officers were on the scene overnight.
A member of the Harrow Online Group posted: “Does anyone know what happened in Wealdstone by the side of MIR FOOD the side road has been taped off by police since early morning.”
A Met Police spokesperson has said: ”Police were called at 00:32hrs on Tuesday, 6 August to reports of gunshots heard on Grant Road, Harrow.”
“Officers attended. There were no reported injuries. There was evidence of a firearms discharge. There have been no arrests and enquiries continue. Trident officers from Specialist Crime are investigating.”.
This follows a firearm discharge last month in Wealdstone that saw the High Street closed in both directions at the junction of Gordon Road due to someone using a firearm.
