There was a burglary at Hatch End Swimming Pool last night that left the centre damaged with the till being ‘ripped out’.
A post on the Harrow Online Group said: “Hi guys, just a quick message to let everyone know, Hatch End swimming pool is closed. It was burgled last night. The toerags ripped out and stole the till (which they didn’t realise was empty so they’ve caused a whole load of damage and inconvenience for nothing).”
“They’ve left broken glass all over the place and a load of mess. Hopefully they’ll have left some fingerprints. The lifeguards are waiting for the police to turn up at the moment. It’ll definitely be closed today and they’ve said to phone first to check if it’s open if you’re going swimming tomorrow.”
It follows another burglary at Caffè Nero just 48 hours before hand that happened in Pinner.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 06:43hrs on Saturday, 10 August to reports of a burglary at commercial premises on Uxbridge Road in Pinner. The burglary is believed to have taken place overnight. There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.”
