A man has been handed a six-month suspended sentence at Harrow Crown Court following a theft of two hundred pounds from a church donation box.
Ian Caulfield was convicted following pleading guilty to stealing the money. Caulfield used an angle grinder to steal the cash from a candle donation box in Our Lady Annunciation Church, Thirleby Road, HA8.
Burnt Oak SNT tweeted: “After a successful investigation by Burnt Oak SNT, on 07/08/19 at HARROW CROWN COURT Ian Caulfield pleaded guilty to theft from the Annunciation Church when he had the audacity to use an angle grinder to steal £200 from the candle box. He received a 6 months suspended sentence”.
Some people have replied to voice their disappointment with the suspended sentence. One person posted on Twitter: “Suspended sentence!!!! You can’t be happy with that. Stealing from a place of worship using an angle grinder. Clear pre-meditation and significant community impact as a result . Please tell me that you and @MPSBarnet will be challenging this sentence as it’s frankly a joke”. (Featured Image Credit: Google)
