A massive haul of cannabis worth an estimated £50,000 was recovered from a property in Watford.
Police made the discovery after searching a property in Cezanne Road. Over 1,100 bags of cannabis were discovered.
Police searched the property yesterday morning at around 6:00am (Friday 4 October) and carried out a search of the address under Section 8 of the Police and Criminal Evidence (PACE) Act. Two people were arrested.
Rocci Farrugia, 37, Watford, has been charged with one count of possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply. Also, a 28-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
PC Hollie Taylor, from Watford’s Operation Scorpion team, said: “We are pleased that we have prevented this substantial amount of drugs from reaching the streets. We were able to take action thanks to intelligence submitted to us by members of the public, who told us that they had witnessed suspicious activity linked to the address.
“Friday’s high-visibility action is just part of the work we are doing to tackle drug supply in Watford. Drugs can have a hugely detrimental effect on local communities as more often than not, they are a pre-cursor to more violent and acquisitive crime.
“If you suspect drug crime in your neighbourhood, please take the time report it to us so we can build an intelligence picture and take proactive steps like we have done here.”
