Injured man crashes refuse vehicle into central Harrow building

There has been an accident on Dominion Parade in central Harrow this morning involving a Harrow Council refuse vehicle crashing into a building.

The incident next to Woodlands Road, Harrow, shocked residents as the vehicle crashed into Kirkfield House today (October 29) at around 6:52am.

Met police told Harrow Online: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 06:52hrs on Tuesday, 29 October to reports of an injured man on Dominion Parade in Harrow.

“Officers attended. At this early stage, it is believed that the man was injured by his own vehicle before it collided with a building.

“No other parties are believed to be involved.

“Emergency services remain at the scene.”

A Harrow Council spokesperson said:

“This morning there was an incident involving one of our refuse vehicles. Investigations are ongoing and we are working with the police and London fire brigade.”

Thankfully no one was hurt, and the driver was treated for shock.”

A report of the incident came into the Harrow Online Group saying “Potential delays near Harrow Tesco on station Road. Incident with harrow council truck and a person. Three fire engines, police and ambulance all present”.
