Where possible, please help and donate essential items such as toiletries, hand wash, toilet roll, tinned food, pasta, biscuits, bread, milk etc.

A fine example of our #HelpingHarrow hashtag campaign. Ameesha and her team are doing an amazing job.

A recent post on the Harrow Online Group said: “Let’s have a little bit of positivity right now and share this post to support all those volunteers that are helping the vulnerable, get their everyday items they need!

“I’ve never felt so helpless when my grandad who’s 300 miles away who is the most vulnerable right now, rang me and told me he needed help with shopping. He can’t go out as he is vulnerable and There was no deliveries until mid April on all of the supermarkets. I thought I was doing the 8hour round trip to deliver the few essentials left in the shops to him.

“I had a brainwave and joined his local Facebook group and asked for help. Within minutes there was people commenting wanting to help. Within half an hour a lovely lady called Pipsy had dropped him some bread, milk, potatoes and carrots off so he had essentials for that day.

“I somehow managed to get a slot for a click and collect order at tescos for today between 9-11 but then I was stuck on how we would get it from tescos to his home without putting him at risk. Another lady called Ameesha kindly offered to go and collect it and deliver it to him!

“Two complete strangers used their own time and money to help those who are most in need. No words could ever thank them enough for what they have done for us as a family and I’ll be forever greatful! Hero’s!”
