St Luke’s Hospice issues urgent call for vital supplies

St Luke’s Hospice is making an urgent appeal for donations of vital cleaning supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE) for staff.

The charity, which provides free expert end of life care for people in Harrow and Brent, is calling on local businesses to support those at the end of their lives during the coronavirus crisis by donating gifts-in-kind items such as hand sanitiser and latex gloves.

Hospice Chief Executive, Alpana Malde said they are facing difficulties accessing equipment for the Hospice and is calling on the local community to help. She explained: “The safety of our patients, staff and volunteers is our absolute priority. Due to the worldwide pandemic we are all currently facing, accessing vital supplies is understandably challenging.

“However, there are still local people who need us. It is essential that we are able to remain open, but we can only do so with the right equipment and supplies. As a result, we are calling on local businesses and the public to pull together as a community to ensure that we can continue caring for those who need us.”

Alpana added: “Any donations of these vital supplies will help support local people continuing to receive free expert care at St Luke’s. Thank you so much in advance for your consideration and generosity.”

The Hospice needs:

  • Hand sanitiser – in bulk and individual bottles
  • Latex gloves
  • Fluid resistant masks
  • Plastic visors with sides along the arms
  • Wipeable lanyards
