The Post Office has agreed to relocate Kenton Lane Post Office to nearby News Express, 217 Kenton Lane, Harrow, HA3 8RP with significantly extended opening hours.
The branch at 223 Kenton Lane, Harrow, HA3 8RP closed on Monday 6 April. The date for the new branch opening, at News Express, 217 Kenton Lane, is being finalised and will be confirmed as soon as possible.
It had been originally planned to open Kenton Lane Post Office at the new location the following day, however, that was not possible because of restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the unavoidable delay.
In the interim alternative branches include:
• Queensbury Post Office, 10 Queensbury Circle Parade, Harrow, HA3 9HH (current revised hours Monday to Saturday: 9am – 2pm)
• Kenton Post Office, 148 Kenton Road, Harrow, HA3 8AZ current revised hours Monday to Saturday: 9am – 2pm)
The relocated Kenton Lane Post Office will be a new-style local branch with Post Officeservices provided from an open-plan counter alongside the retail counter of the convenience store.
Opening hours will be Monday to Sunday: 7am – 11pm.
• Opening hours would more than double
This will be an extra 66 hours of Post Office service a week including all-day Sunday and Saturday afternoon. The branch will also open earlier and it will close much later every day. These changes would make it far more convenient for customers to visit.
The move is part of the ongoing modernisation of our branch network. We are confident that introducing a local style branch alongside a successful retail store is the most effective way to safeguard sustainable Post Office services in the local community.
Jason Collins Post Office Regional Change Manager, said: “We will be making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.
“We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.”
