The Violence Suppression Unit have charged and remanded a man after he rammed a police vehicle in College Road, Harrow.
The man was also charged for supplying crack cocaine, dangerous driving, assaulting police and further charges. College Road is located just off Harrow Weald High Road. Videos and images posted on the Harrow Online Group yesterday (24 May) showed an arrest being made on Long Elmes just opposite College Road, it is not known if these are related.
Harrow MPS Police tweeted: “The Violence Suppression Unit have charged and remanded a man in relation to an incident in College Road HA3 where a police vehicle was rammed.
“He was charged with Supply Crack cocaine, Dangerous Driving, Assault police and more.
#VSU”
Violence Suppression Units (known as VSU) have also been created to help cut offences across London. Since the lockdown began back on March 23, almost all crime has fallen in London, according to data from Scotland Yard said the BBC recently.
In response to the tweet, Leader of the GLA Conservatives Susan Hall said: “Thank you, I do hope no Officers were hurt”. Another person replied to the tweet saying: “Disgusting people Cllr!
I hope the police press the strongest charges!”
