Harrow Labour Party offices vandalised

The Harrow Labour offices at Blenheim Road were vandalised with graffiti yesterday (17 June).

The graffiti was sprayed in black paint across the front of the offices at some point yesterday afternoon. People took to the Harrow Online Group to discuss the incident with many people outraged.

One person said: “just don’t understand the stupidity of these people. No need to deface property”

Gareth Thomas MP has provided Harrow Online with a statement regarding the vandalisation of the Office:  “I am obviously disappointed that someone has chosen to target the office I share with Navin Shah & Harrow West Labour Party In this way.

Disgusting: Graffiti on the offices in Harrow

We are in contact with the police & will further review our security arrangements. I am grateful for the many messages of support and remain determined to continue to support the people of Harrow at what is a particularly difficult time for too many.

I continue to be very proud to represent one of the most diverse constituencies in the UK and continue to have good relationships with all faiths and communities.” Gareth Thomas MP

Thankfully Harrow Council have now removed the graffiti from the office.

Harrow Council commented via Facebook saying: “Completely unacceptable and not welcome in Harrow.

“Whatever the issue, we will always have different opinions and there is nothing wrong with that.

“What is unacceptable is when people air their frustrations by damaging property. This offensive graffiti appeared yesterday and took 4 hours to clear by our clean team.

“We’d like to thank Paul from our street cleansing team who gave up his evening to clear this and finished in the early hours past midnight.

“This is now being investigated by the police – if anyone has any information, please contact the police.”
