Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters rushed Apple Grove in Harrow to respond to a flat on fire this morning (19 June).
London Fire Brigade have confirmed that part of a five-roomed flat on the fourth floor of the building was alight.
Around 35 residents left the building before LFB arrived at the scene. One man was treated on scene by London Ambulance Service crews after suffering from smoke inhalation.
London Fire Brigade was called at 8:21am and the fire was under control by 10:01. Fire crews from Harrow, Northolt, Wembley, Stanmore and Ruislip fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Footage of the blaze has been uploaded by different members of the Harrow Online Group. One person commented saying: “There is big fire happening at Apple Grove Rayners Lane”.
MPS Harrow tweeted: “We are currently on scene at Apple Grove in Harrow, assisting @LondonFire with a fire within a residential block. One male currently being treated for smoke inhalation. All other residents safely evacuated. Cordons are in place, please assist us by avoiding the area.”
