Northwick Park Hospital looking for covid-19 vaccine study volunteers

The hospital trust that looks after Northwick Park Hospital are looking to recruit volunteers for a covid-19 vaccine study.

London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust is currently recruiting for a COVID-19 vaccine study. The purpose of this study is to test a new vaccine against COVID-19 in healthy volunteers.

A new virus causing respiratory disease emerged in Wuhan, China in December 2019 and has since rapidly spread to many other countries around the world, despite unprecedented containment efforts. The virus is part of the Coronavirus family which may cause respiratory infections ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases. This recently discovered coronavirus causes coronavirus disease COVID-19.

London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH) provides hospital and community services to the people of Harrow, Brent and Ealing.

Established on 1 October 2014, our team of 9,000 clinical and support staff serve a diverse population of approximately one million people.

As well as delivering community services across the three London boroughs, we provide acute hospital services at:

Northwick Park Hospital
St Mark’s Hospital
Ealing Hospital
Central Middlesex Hospital

This study aims to find a safe vaccine that can be used to create immune responses against the virus and thus prevent the disease. If you are over 18 years old and in good health, you could be eligible to participate. The study would involve 6 visits over 12 months.
