Cllr Muhammed Butt, Leader of Brent Council has issue a further warning to Brent residents as covid-19 cases continue to rise in the borough.
Brent has the highest number of Coronavirus deaths of any London borough. Public Health England has issued data showing that 1,812 have tested positive for the virus (Aug 6) with Barnet not far behind at 1,698.
In a statement posted on the Brent Council website, Cllr Butt said: “Earlier this week I wrote to you sharing an urgent warning that confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Brent were rising again. Lockdown restrictions are being relaxed in most places across the country, which we have all been looking forward to, but a major risk remains.
“So today I am asking for your help again to prevent a second wave of the virus in the borough. We all want to avoid a situation where we cannot visit each other’s homes again. Every effort we all make now will help save lives and protect people.
“Please pay attention to your surroundings at all times and strictly follow the NHS advice:”
The message continued: “Please continue to pass this message onto your family, friends and neighbours.”
“If we all follow the NHS advice, we can all get back to doing the things we love as soon as it’s safe to do so.”
