A person at a high school in Stanmore has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) as worries continue about the current spike in cases.
Park High School on Thistlecroft Gardens, Stanmore has sent an email to parents of children at the school stating that there has been a confirmed case of the virus and that they are monitoring the situation whilst working with Public Health England.
Members of the Harrow Online Group have been discussing their thoughts on children attending school whilst knowing that a positive case of coronavirus had been detected.
One person said: “Shouldn’t the school close to clean the building. I wouldn’t be sending my kids back its heartbreaking enough to look after covid positive patients let alone kids to go through that. It was way too early to open schools plus it’s starting to slowly come back”.
Another person commented saying: “if my kids are well they will be going to school, both mine are at primary school, perhaps things are different at high school, we have to learn to live with covid, covid is not going anywhere anytime soon”.
Another comment reads: “This covid will not stop. So we need to bust our immune system and survive. Autumn is here, so will start in schools flue, sore troughs etc. My kids will go to schools, if they are well.”
A concerned member said: “the amount of kids I see after school not social distancing or wearing masks is unbelievable- parents need to take responsibility”.
