A primary school in Harrow has told children to self-isolate for 14 days after child tested positive for COVID-19.
Longfield Primary School, on Dukes Avenue, Rayners Lane, Harrow have issued a letter to parents saying that a child has tested positive for coronavirus and that those who have had close contact should self-isolate following advice given to the school by Public Health England.
A letter sent out by the school says that they are ‘continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England’. The letter goes on to say that people should be reassured because for most people ‘Coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness’.
It continues: ‘the school remains open and providing your child remains well they can continue to attend school as normal. We will keep this under review’.
A concerned member of Harrow Online said: “The siblings of the year 2 children are expected to go in (ridiculous in my opinion)”.
We have reached out to the school for a statement on this but at this time they have ‘no comments to make’.
