A Facebook post went viral last week as a worried mother had reported a disturbing incident in Shaftesbury Playing Fields, Hatch End.
The incident happened in broad daylight on Wednesday 16th September as a grandmother had taken children to Grimsdyke Park.
The Facebook post said: “My mum was in Grimsdyke park this afternoon around 5-5:30pm with both my children. My mum had turned her back for a minute while getting the kids bikes and when she turned round, a girl was holding both the kids hands and walking out the park with them. Thankfully my mum noticed quickly and started shouting and everyone is fine.
“My mum has reported them to the police but wanted to share as a warning to be vigilant
“The girl said she was 12 although my mum doesn’t think this is correct. She was in traditional Indian clothing and spoke with an accent.”
A spokesperson for Met Police told Harrow Online: “Police were called at 18.46hr on 16th September following reports of a young female acting suspiciously at Shaftesbury playing fields around 5pm.
“Officers attended and reported the incident. There was no allegation of any crime taking place.
