Empty houses on the rise in Harrow

At a time when demand for new housing is so high, it’s sad to think that any house would sit empty when it could be being turned into a home for someone.

Unfortunately, however, that’s the case for thousands of properties across the country. It has been revealed that Harrow ranks 3rd in the top 10 UK locations where empty homes are on the rise.

The latest figures show that there are over 640,000 vacant dwellings in England, which account for 2.65% of all houses. But where in the country are the most houses sitting empty?

Research from Coulters, using Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government data, has revealed that Harrow ranks 3rd.
Looking at the areas with the highest % of empty homes (compared to the total number of homes in the area), the majority are found in the North West, with Blackpool having a higher rate of empty properties than anywhere else.
