Christmas at the Palace – Watford Palace Theatre is delighted to announce it will be reopening from the 11th December. We invite audiences to join us for Christmas at the Palace, a one-off season of festive shows for all the family, with reduced ticket prices to help make the winter season a little easier.
At the heart of our season of joyful goodies is Dame Terry’s Very Merry Christmas, a specially created show hailing the return to the stage of Palace favourite Dame, Terence Frisch!
Dame Terry thought she was in for a quiet Christmas at home alone – a packet of mince pies, a little bit of Gogglebox and a sherry trifle for one – BUT oh no she isn’t! Join her live on stageat Watford Palace Theatre for some traditional festive cheer, laughter, and a touch of magical mayhem, as we create an impromptu Very Merry Christmas!
Dame Terry’s Very Merry Christmas runs from 23rd – 27thDecember, with ticket prices starting at just £10!
Brigid Larmour, Watford Palace Theatre’s CEO and Artistic Director said: We’re thrilled to be announcing something joyous to look forward to this very unusual Christmas. Thanks to the government’s Cultural Recovery Fund, #HereForCulture, and as part of Watford Borough Council’s ‘Christmas Together in Watford’, we’re offering a range of brilliant and affordable festive entertainment for all the family, including a specially created show featuring our beloved Dame Terry Frisch!
Also, within the Christmas at the Palace programme…
Showstopper! The Improvised Musical (15th – 19th December 2pm & 7:30pm) is coming to Watford Palace for the first time ever and promises some improvised festive cheer. After twelve years as an Edinburgh Festival must-see phenomenon, an Olivier Award and over 1000 performances in London and across the UK, The Showstoppers look forward to bringing you a week of singular, one-night-only musical extravaganzas, as Christmassy as you want them to be!
Adam Meggido, Showstopper! co-Artistic Director said: “We are thrilled to be bringing Showstopper! to the beautiful Watford Palace Theatre. At times like this, live performance is hard to come by – but because Showstopper! is totally improvised you will get a totally different show every night! We very much hope that the people of Watford will join us more than once for some seasonal joy and laughter this Christmas.’
Comedy Club 4 Kids (12th December 2pm) will be returning to Watford Palace with their Christmas Cracker comedy show for children and their adults. Since 2005, the Comedy Club 4 Kids has been getting the best stand-ups and sketch acts from the international circuit to do their thing for an audience of children and their families… but without the rude bits! It’s just like a normal comedy club, but it’s on in the day! Not only that but the brilliant comics will be staying for an evening show Comedy Club (7:30pm) – purely for the adults… just in case you want a night off from the kids, and a good chuckle of course.
Covid Secure at Watford Palace – The safety of our audiences and staff is paramount. Our team has worked incredibly hard to ensure that our venue is exceptionally safe, with the creation of socially distanced audience “bubble” seating that adheres to Government guidelines, timed entry, paperless processes and one way systems within the building, training our dedicated team of hosts so that we can welcome audiences back to the Palace in the safest possible way.
