Free online directory for Harrow businesses encourages people to shop local

Be the best in the business once again! Sign up to Harrow Council’s new online directory – Harrow Basket – and reconnect your business with local shoppers.

Harrow businesses, whether on a high street, parade or online, can sign up to list their business for free on Harrow Council’s online business directory, Harrow Basket.

It takes just minutes to sign up and be part of the action! Simply email harrow.basket@harrow.gov.uk before next Wednesday 16 December to be included on the Harrow Basket site for the pre-Christmas launch later that week. We’ll send you a quick and easy form to fill in online that makes sure shoppers have all the formation needed to shop with you.

Deputy Leader of Harrow Council, Cllr Keith Ferry, said: “Now (more than ever) small business are having to find new ways to compete with the big online retailers and with national lockdown being lifted we want to help them get back on their feet and encourage our residents to shop local.

“The Harrow Basket does exactly that – connect local businesses with residents so we can rediscover our high streets and put the pennies back into our local community!

“I hope businesses take up this great promotion opportunity – and what better time to sign-up with Christmas around the corner, and people looking for great deals on their doorstep.”

The free online directory is a great opportunity for Harrow businesses to promote their products and services, and to keep customers informed of their opening hours and any covid related restrictions.

The Harrow Basket forms part of the support being offered to local businesses under the council’s Shop Local campaign – helping local retailers become Covid secure and encouraging residents to shop locally.

That means full compliance with Government safety guidelines, introducing signage, queuing systems and one-way flow measures.
