A man believed to be aged in his 60s is in a critical condition after a collision with a vehicle in Stanmore today (11 Jan).
Police have confirmed that the driver stopped at the scene and the man was taken to hospital for treatment. The road was closed off by police at the junction of Church Road/Uxbridge Road just next to St John’s Church.
Met Police told Harrow Online: “Police were called at approximately 11:55hrs on Monday, 11 January to reports of a collision involving a car and pedestrian in Church Road, junction with Uxbridge Road, Stanmore.
“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and the pedestrian, a man believed aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital for treatment; he remains there in a critical condition.
“The driver of the car stopped at the scene.
“No arrests; enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
“Road closures remain in place while the scene is dealt with.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 11.50am today (11 January) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Church Road, Stanmore.
“We sent an ambulance crew to the scene. They treated a man for a head injury and took him to a hospital.”
