People advised not to show up looking for ‘spare vaccinations’ at The Hive Covid Vaccination Centre

The Hive COVID Vaccination Centre at Barnet Football Ground have asked residents not to show up at The Hive stadium looking for ‘spare vaccinations’ at the end of the day.

A message posted on the OWL website stated that the stadium is being ‘inundated’ with with people turning up hoping there are spare vaccines left over and advised again that these are strictly for over 80s.

The message said:

“Dear Watch Member,

“Staff/volunteers at location ask people not to just turn up without an appointment but to wait until they are invited.

“Staff are currently only vaccinating over 80 year olds.

“The site is being inundated with people turning up hoping there are spare vaccines left at the end of the day.

“The site has strict criteria on who they can offer a vaccine to and at the moment they can only vaccinate over 80 year olds and healthcare professionals, again with an appointment.

“Please respect these rules.”

There is currently a very high Coronavirus infection rate in Harrow with some residents having COVID without knowing it, because they do not show or feel any symptoms.

To help locate the infected residents and break the chain of infection Harrow Council have also introduced Rapid COVID testing for people who are not showing any symptoms of COVID. To find out more, click here.
