Harrow Council make changes to improve access for emergency service vehicles to the Headstone South LTN

Harrow Council have revealed that immediate action is being taken to further improve access for Emergency Service vehicles to the Headstone South Low Traffic Neighbourhood.

The action has been taken by the council following feedback from the Emergency Services this month.

The three remaining road closures in the Headstone South LTN at Canterbury Road, Gloucester Road and Beresford Road have been amended as of yesterday (Wednesday 27 January) to allow a five-metre gap for access for the emergency services to pass through unrestricted.

Enhanced signage will make it clear that the opening is for emergency access only.

Mobile CCTV cameras will be used to act as a visible deterrent to motorists, reinforced by warning letters and fines for repeat offenders – the use of the Mobile CCTV cameras will be directed by traffic surveys to be carried out this month.
