Local bargain and homeware store Discount Direct is to permanently close down after being part of Harrow Weald for over 15 years.
The local shop, which sells discounted household products, tools, toiletries and also offered mobile phone repairs, is holding a ‘everything must go’ closing down sale when it reopens after lockdown.
Discount Direct is located on the High Road in Harrow Weald just next door to Waitrose and Iceland.
One member of Harrow Online said: “I have just found out that after years Discount Direct is to close down forever. I did like going there sometimes to see what bargains they had but I’m excited to see what takes over its place”.
Another person said: “I often go to the shop to buy pots and pans, when it’s my sons birthday they are good for candles and other party items. Sad to see them go but let’s see what’s next!”
One other customer said: “I’ve been shopping there for years, it’s a great shop for when you forgotten that one item such as balloons or nails to nail something in. The mobile phone repair man is handy as I often break my phone screen!”.
Harrow Weald has been seeing other recent changes along the high road as Lidl opened last year replacing the long standing Homebase that had been there for 25 years prior.
What would you like to see in the place of Discount Direct when it closes? The store is quite big so there is lots of potential to create something new and unique. Let us know what you would like to see in our Facebook post comments.
