“Last month, we voluntarily decided to pause walk-in Takeaway services in all our restaurants whilst we reviewed our safety measures. Throughout the pandemic we have always prioritised the safety and wellbeing of our people and customers, this remains our top priority.
“Over the past four weeks, we’ve worked with third-party safety experts, McDonald’s head office to review all of the safety and operational processes in place in our restaurants.
“We already had a number of Safety measures in place to help keep our employees and customers safe, these include a wellness and temperature check on arrival for all employees.
“We have had screens fitted in our kitchens and service areas and provide gloves for customer facing positions. Our staff are provided with to wear. We have reviewed our strict cleaning regimes, especially around touch points such as card readers and will encourage our customers to make more contact-free orders and interactions.
“On top of the safety measures already in place we will be providing face shields to all those staff working directly with customers or couriers on our dining areas, to wear in addition to face coverings.
“We have installed hand sanitiser to be used immediately upon entry to the restaurant. A member of staff will be reviewing and setting a maximum capacity within dining areas for couriers and customers.
“We hope that opening the Restaurant’s we are able to provide a food service for Key Workers and Delivery to encourage families to remain at home. All of our restaurants are running a promotion to provide a free McDelivery service via Just Eat to help customers get their favourite delivered to their front door.
“Like many other businesses in the hospitality sector we look forward to a time where we can safely welcome customers back into our restaurants to eat in.”
