Police respond to reports of a man with ‘multiple knives’ in North Harrow

A 52-year-old man was arrested yesterday in North Harrow after allegedly attempting to stab a police officer. 

The incident happened at around 9:30 yesterday morning on the junction of Pinner Road and Station Road in North Harrow.

Video footage uploaded on social media show police officers arresting the man.
 

London & UK Crime tweeted: “The Tesco Employee just saved the police officer from getting stabbed despite being tasered, the criminal was able to get up with the knife still in his hand, where the Tesco Employee then floored him (Pinner Road, HA2)”

Met Police told Harrow Online: “On Friday, 19 January at approximately 09:36hrs police were called to reports of a male in possession multiple knives on Pinner Road, Harrow.
 

“Officers attended and arrested a 52-year-old man at the scene for affray, he was further arrested at 14:36hrs on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent contrary to S.18 Offences Against The Persons Act 1861.

“The matter has not been declared a Counter Terrorism incident however Counter Terrorism police officers are assisting local borough command unit officers with their enquiries.”

Members of the Harrow Online Group commented: “It was quite an old guy wielding a knife around, then he went into the middle of the traffic light junction which stopped the traffic. Then the police arrived.”
