Police cordon in place in Stanmore as scaffolding in a ‘precarious position’

There is a police cordon in Stanmore this morning as emergency services make scaffolding safe that appears to have been moved by the wind.

The cordon is at the junction of Abercorn Road and Wemborough Road near Stanburn Primary School in Stanmore

On social media people have been commenting about the ongoing situation. One person said: “Scaffolding collapse on Wemborough Road, Stanmore

“Police have cordoned off the road and Stanburn Primary and the nursery are closed. Traffic is a nightmare. Avoid the area!”

Traffic is heavily congested in and around Stanmore due to the road closure.

London Fire Brigade told Harrow Online: “Firefighters have been called to scaffolding in a precarious position on Abercorn Road in Stanmore.

“Cordons are in place as a precaution whilst crews continue to work to make the scene safe.
