Emergency services rush to Edgware to deal with fire near Station Road

Station Road in Edgware is heavily congested tonight as emergency services rush to the scene due to a fire.

The fire is at a building site located behind the Premier House flats nearby and has since been controlled. 

Inside Edgware posted on Facebook: “Major fire in Station Road, Edgware. LFB on the way. More details to follow as we receive them. 

One person posted in the comments: “Materials went on fire on the construction site. Everyone is fine and our flats were evacuated. Fair play to all the fire fighters and police on a great job!!!!!”

Another person said: “For anyone who has just seen this video, the fire was completely contained. It was not in a building. It was on the building site behind Premier House. 

London Fire Brigade told Harrow Online: “Firefighters were called to a fire at a building under construction on Station Road in Edgware last night.

“A number of pallets containing building materials on a first floor mezzanine were destroyed by the blaze. There were no reports of any injuries.

“The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers took 56 calls to the fire.

“The Brigade was called at 1857 and the fire was under control by 1946. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Stanmore, Mill Hill and Hendon fire stations were at the scene.

“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
