Armed police rush to Wealdstone after reports of a man seen with a knife

Armed police rushed to Wealdstone yesterday (2 June) afternoon after reports came in of a man armed with a knife.

The incident happened in Byron Park, Wealdstone just before 5pm.

One person posted on the Harrow Online Group: “Does anyone know what is happening around Byron Park?
There was special forces with proper gear/guns,helmets and all. Must be a big operation???”

Another person commented: “I was just near by and they were inside a black car, they were holding guns and wearing helmets but I’m sure there will be news soon in Harrow Online. Hopefully will find out soon.”

A spokesperson for Met Police said: “Police were called at 16:45hrs on Wednesday, 2 June to Byron Park in Wealdstone following reports that a man was seen in possession of a knife.

“Officers attended and carried out a thorough search of the area. A number of people were spoken to.

“There were no arrests.”
