The Friends of Harrow Weald are holding the first outdoor music event to take place on the newly constructed stage, close to the Lych Gate in Harrow Weald Recreation Ground (also known as Boxtree Park), since lockdown began.
Today 23 July from 7pm a favourite local group DNR will be rocking the park with great live music. They have previously appeared at outdoor events in the park and play a great selection of music reflecting several decades.
As if that wasn’t enough, they have a true Liverpool group, The Liverpool Echoes, appearing the following week on Friday 30th July from 7pm. Two members of the group appeared on Zoom for the Friends during lockdown events, as Merseyside Memories, and now return with the full line up of The Liverpool Echoes to entertain us all.
They will be presenting some of the great sounds that came out of Liverpool from the Sixties onwards, offering something for everyone. If you love the music of the Beatles, Gerry & the Pacemakers, The Merseybeats, The Fourmost, The Swinging Blue Jeans and more, you’re bound to enjoy the Liverpool Echoes.
DJ Donald will be providing support at both of these FREE events.
Further monthly Friday night music events are already booked with Ravi Amruth taking to the Stage on Friday 27th Augustfollowed by Joseph Doran on 24th September.
Ravi found his CDs disappearing fast when he last appeared at a Friends’ event, so is sure to be a hit on his return. If you like the music of Ed Sheeran you will be delighted by the sounds and presentation of Joseph Doran.
It is recommended to take along something to sit on and just get comfortable in the park, close to the Lych Gate where you will find the stage. The music events finish at 10pm.
