A woman believed to be aged in her 50s is currently fighting for her life after being stabbed in Barnet.
The incident happened on Tuesday (21 September) with police called shortly after 8:30pm.
The woman is still in a critical condition in hospital.
Yesterday, Barnet Police tweeted: “Due to the ongoing investigation of an incident, Wood Street Barnet is closed between Argyle Road and Queens Road. Barnet Town centre & Wellhouse Lane for Barnet General Hospital can be accessed via Granville Road. We will update you when the Road has reopened.”
Met Police told Harrow Online: “Police were called at 20:36hrs on Tuesday, 21 September to Barnet Road in Barnet following reports of a stabbing.
“Officers attended and found a woman, believed to be aged in her 50s, suffering from stab injuries.
“She has been taken to hospital; where she remains in a critical condition.
“A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and taken into custody.
“At this early stage it is believed the victim and suspect are known to each other.”
