“I’ve literally got minimal fuel and have more night shifts ahead… we are lift sharing to save fuel”, says a deflated and exhausted paramedic, who has pleaded with Harrow residents to ‘stop blocking the road’.
A paramedic has contacted Harrow Online asking to share their message to Harrow residents after struggling to get through traffic.
“I work for the emergency services and it is so bad with this petrol situation. Our job is difficult enough as it is at the moment, and now not being able to get through traffic as people are blocking roads!” The paramedic said.
“So much for the “we love the NHS”.
Driving on blue lights means we are going to a priority call or have a sick patient on board… yet people are still blocking roads.
“I’m sorry, but a sick and dying patient who needs immediate hospital interventions is more important than someone getting ahead in the line to get petrol”, they added.
“And now after a sh**ty night shift, I am due to start again tonight, and have to leave early to literally sit in traffic to try and get to work so I can sit in the same damn traffic.”
“Also, last night people were queued in front of on coming traffic, on the opposite side of the road. Just went past the petrol station and the lady has been queuing for 6 hours at the Tesco on Belmont Circle”.
