A man from Harrow has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent following an assault on a woman in Piccadilly Circus.
A 25-year-old man, who lives in Harrow, attended a north London police station on Wednesday, 10 November.
He was charged later that day with causing grievous bodily harm with intent (Section 18).
He has been remanded in police custody and will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 11 November.
The charge relates to an incident that took place in the early hours on Monday, 1 November.
The female victim had left a nightclub in London with a friend when a man described as “very flirty” approached and asked for their mobile numbers around 2.15am.
The victim told said that they were “girlfriends”, he then allegedly responded with a homophobic remark about lesbians before punching one of the women in the face.
A 21-year-old woman sustained facial injuries requiring hospital treatment.
