Serious incident at Harrow and Wealdstone station

A serious incident at Harrow & Wealdstone station caused travel issues with passengers stranded on trains for hours.

The incident happened at around 11pm last night as emergency services rushed to the station.

One person tweeted: “we were asked not to even step out of the train as some passengers we demanding for fresh air. At about 12ish the train was divided and we were transported back to harrow and wealdstone. We were made aware coaches and taxis would be transporting us.”

Another person tweeted: “It’s 2.37am and we have just started moving out of Euston Station. Over 4 hours late. But as I have said before my thoughts are with those involved and dealing with the serious incident at Harrow and Wealdstone. We don’t know what exactly has happened.”

London Euston tweeted: “All lines are still blocked due to an incident at Harrow and Wealdstone

“Emergency services are on site so we can’t reopen until everyone is safely off the railway

“We’re sorry to those of you caught up in the disruption. We’re doing our best to get you moving”

They later added: “Emergency services have mostly completed their job on the railway. Trains are able to move on some lines through #HarrowandWealdstone, thank you for your patience

“Potentially delays will continue into the morning please check @nationalrailenq”

They also tweeted this morning: “One line remains closed due to the incident yesterday. Please check @nationalrailenq as journeys between Euston and Watford Jn may be delayed.

“We’re really sorry for the disruption to your journey. Thank you for your patience.

“Be safe. Be patient. Be kind.”

Harrow Online has approached British Transport Police for further information.
