Professional footballer tragically dies aged 38

Former Football League footballer Marvin Morgan has shockingly passed away at the age of 38.

Morgan’s former club, Hendon FC, confirmed the tragic news on Monday before deleting their tweet ahead of an official statement.

Over his career, Marvin made more than 200 appearances in the English Football League, with clubs such as Shrewsbury Town, Hartlepool United and Plymouth Argyle.

It said: “We are shocked to have learned this morning of the passing of Marvin Morgan at the age of just 38 years old.

“Marvin joined us at the start of the 2018/19 season and had a big influence in his 7 appearances. Our thoughts are with his friends, family and loved ones today.

Aston Villa winger Ashley Young’s message on social media said: “Sorry to hear the sad sad news this morning about Marv. I’m lost for words, to think we was just joking the other week. RIP BRO.”

Another of Morgan’s former clubs, Shrewsbury tweeted: “Shrewsbury Town Football Club is deeply saddened to receive news that Marvin Morgan has tragically passed away aged just 38. The Club would like to send our most sincere condolences to his friends and family. Rest in Peace, Marvin.”

Morgan became a fashion designer towards the end of his career with numerous stars wearing his brand including Anthony Joshua.
