Two police officers injured following incident in South London

Police are investigating an incident that left two officers injured in South London are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

At around 10:00am on Thursday, 30 December officers from the Met’s South Area Command Safer Transport Team stopped a man riding a motorcycle at Cherry Tree Green, Croydon.

The man (aged 23) became violent during the stop. He was then detained by police following Taser deployment. Police also confirmed that a knife was recovered at the scene.

One officer suffered a concussion and a second officer suffered a suspected fracture.

A 23-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident.
