Man taken to hospital after overturned car closes road in Stanmore

A car ended up on its side after an accident in Stanmore at around 11:30pm yesterday evening (23 Jan).

The collision happened at the junction of Wetheral Drive and Weston Drive in between Belmont and Stanmore. A man had to be treated at hospital following the accident.

Weston Drive was closed in both directions whilst emergency services dealt with the incident. The road has since reopened.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 11:30pm yesterday evening (23 January) to reports of a traffic collision on Weston Drive, Stanmore.

“We sent an ambulance crew, a medic in a car, a team leader and an incident response officer.

“We treated a man at the scene and took them to hospital.”

Met Police said: “Police were called at 23:30hrs on Sunday, 23 January to Weston Drive, Stanmore, to reports of a car overturned.

“There were no serious injuries.

“No arrests. Roads have re-opened.”
