Lynda Baron, best known for her role as Nurse Gladys Emmanuel on the classic British sitcom Open All Hours has died.
It has been reported today that Lynda, also famous for her roles in Eastenders and Come Outside, has sadly died at the age of 82.
Her agent Donna French, announced her death in a statement which said: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved client Lynda Baron.”
“We extend our deepest condolences to her daughter Sarah, her son Morgan and all her family,”
On twitter, stars and notable names from the world of television have been paying their respects.
TV network Gold tweeted: “We’re all deeply saddened by the passing of Lynda Baron who was well-loved as Nurse Gladys Emmanuel in both Open All Hours and Still Open All Hours. Our thoughts are with her family and friends.”
Voice over Agent Sally Lindsay tweeted: “I loved Lynda Baron.She was funny and clever and a joy to work with,and she once gifted me a pair of beautiful red shoes.This has made me very sad. RIP Lynda darling.”
Actor Stewart Antony tweeted: “Saddened to hear wonderful friend Lynda Baron has sadly passed away. She was the nicest person and what a legend. Here we are with Su Pollard just before lockdown – RIP Lynda Baron”
Alistair Coleman tweeted: “Come Outside with Lynda Baron came out just as my kids were at viewing age, and frankly, anybody who takes her dog in a polka-dot plane to buy a tube of toothpaste is fine by me.
