Lorry carrying thousands of potatoes crashes into property in Greenford

A lorry carrying potatoes has crashed into a property in Greenford this evening (March 21) leaving thousands of the vegetables in the road.

Shocking footage shared on social media shows the scene as a lorry came flying off the A40 and into a property.

London Fire Brigade said: “Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision on Western Avenue by the junction of Cayton Road in Greenford.

“Crews made the scene safe after an articulated lorry carrying 45 tonnes of potatoes collided with three other vehicles and overturned. Two people were treated on scene by London Ambulance Service crews.

“The Brigade was called at 1908 and the incident was over for firefighters by 1957. Two fire engines from Ealing and Northolt fire stations and a fire rescue unit from Heston Fire Station attended the scene.”
