Protesters from the Extinction Rebellion have caused Tower Bridge to be closed off this morning and have blocked traffic on both sides.
A bright green banner urging the government to “end fossil fuels now” has been hung on the bridge in London.
Boats are reportedly told to go around the sides of the bridge, not underneath it as police are at the scene.
Footage on social media showed the group members abseiling down the bridge to hang up the banner in a prominent position.
