Boxer Amit Khan has been robbed of his watch, reportedly worth over £70,000, in London.
The 35-year-old said he was confronted just after he crossed the road by two men. The boxer was then asked my one of the men to hand over his watch.
At the time of writing, the tweet sent out is going viral across Twitter having been liked over 30k times and retweeted over 3k times.
The star tweeted out: “Just had my watch taken off me at gun point in East London, Leyton. I crossed the road with Faryal, luckily she was few steps behind me.
“2 men ran to me, he asked for my watch whist having a gun pointed in my face. The main thing is we’re both safe.”
The incident occurred in East London. Many of Khan’s fans were quick to offer their support to the star after he tweeted the news.
Fellow boxer Anthony Fowler replied to Khan on Twitter saying: “Glad your ok mate, I was living there until few weeks ago, full of absolute scumbags, I couldn’t leave the house without some form of confrontation.
Another person said: “They obviously have seen what you are wearing and knows who you are. You need to be careful when you are venturing into places that you aren’t aware of. This is east London and one of the most dangerous areas. Glad you and family are safe.”
One other person advised: “I’m glad you’re both safe. There are CCTV cameras and cameras on every bus taxi and über in the City of London. Perhaps police could start there.
“I never ever go out wearing my best minnie mouse watch for that very reason.”
Another person said: “hocking, I lived in Leyton for 10 years. Never had a problem. Good to know you and Faryal are fine.
What a shaking experience.”
Many people have been quick to defend the area in East London, the police are believed to be looking into the incident.
