A man has been rushed to a major trauma centre following a stabbing in Wealdstone High Street.
The street is currently cordoned off by police with all bus routes affected including the 340, 258 and 140 amongst others. The cordon stretches from the parade of shops after the petrol station, heading towards Harrow Weald.
A spokesperson for Met Police said: “At 17:31hrs on Thursday, 5 May police were called to reports of a stabbing on Wealdstone High Street.
“Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service.
“They found a 22-year-old male with stab wounds.
“He has been taken to a west London hospital and his injuries have been assessed as not-life threatening.
“A crime scene is in place and an investigation is under way.
“At this early stage, there have been no arrests.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has other relevant information should call 101, giving the reference 5673/05MAY.
“Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
One person told Harrow Online that sniffer dogs had been seen on Risingholme Road, with residents being told to ‘stay inside’ by police.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 5.25pm today (Thursday) to reports of an incident in the High Street, Wealdstone.
“We sent an ambulance, a medic in a response car, an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic and London’s air ambulance.
“We treated a man at the scene before taking him to a major trauma centre.”
