Motorcyclist named by police following fatal collision in Hillingdon

Police have appealed to the public for witnesses and any road users with dash cam footage to contact them following a fatal collision in Hillingdon.

Met Police posted via their website: “Officers were called at 10:21hrs on Saturday, 7 May to reports of a collision involving a car and a motorcyclist in Holloway Lane, West Drayton.

“London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance also attended. The motorcyclist – a man aged 33 – was pronounced dead at the scene.

“While formal identification awaits, his next of kin have been informed and police can confirm the deceased is Christopher Bayliss from the West Drayton area.

“The car failed to stop at the scene but was subsequently located. A 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.”

Detective Sergeant Matt Smith of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “I would appeal to any road users who were in the vicinity of Holloway Lane at around 10:20am on Saturday, 7 May and who may have witnessed this collision, or recorded events on dash cam equipment, to please get in contact.

“We need to piece together the events that led to Christopher losing his life in this tragic incident. If you can help, please speak to us.”
