Police appeal following incident in Cassiobury Park, Watford

Police officers in Watford are appealing for information and witnesses following an incident in Cassiobury Park.

Herts Police said: “Between 3.40pm and 4.05pm on Monday 18 April, a verbal dispute occurred between two men in the car park of Cassiobury Park.

“It is alleged that one of the men kicked the wingmirror of the other man’s car, causing it fall off. He also reportedly punched the victim whilst with his car keys in hand, causing a small puncture wound to the back of his neck.

“Police were called and immediately attended the scene. A 39-year-old man from Barnet was arrested on suspicion of assault (ABH), criminal damage and common assault. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.”

Detective Constable Ashley Young, who is investigating, said: “We’ve been carrying out extensive enquiries into this incident and I am keen for any witnesses to come forward. Were you in the area? Did you see what happened? The cars involved were a silver van and a blue Peugeot 207 – perhaps you saw them?

“Any information you have, no matter how small it might seem, could be vital to our investigation. Please call the non-emergency number 101 or email me, quoting crime reference 41/30479/22.”
