Harrow charity announces return of ‘Midnight Walk’

St Luke’s Hospice in Harrow have announced the return of its biggest fundraising event of the year, the Midnight Walk.

The charity state that residents are “guaranteed to have fun as you join over a thousand others, some in fancy dress and some glowing in the dark” as you’ll make their way around this huge, memorable and community spirited night time walk.

The event takes place on Saturday 25 June from 10pm-3am, it is hoped that over 1400 people will take part.

Each participant will walk 5 or 9 miles through the night together with family and friends, raising vital funds for the Hospice.

Starting in celebratory style at an outdoor event village at Byron Park, Wealdstone, there will be music, food and entertainment to enjoy from 9.00pm. A live warm up event will then help everyone get ready to head off on the marshalled route around Harrow at 10pm.

The event will round up with a free T-shirt and finisher’s medal for everyone.

Those unable to take part in the live event can do it in their own way as a Virtual Midnight Walk, choosing a date, time and route that suits them.

Laxmi explains why she and her family decided to take part last year, “We did the walk in loving memory of my Uncle Manji Patel. He was looked after by St Luke’s Hospice where he received amazing care. He passed away peacefully on 30 June 2021. It was a very emotional journey for the whole family. The walk was a beautiful experience to be part of. I truly had an amazing time.”

HSBC UK are headline sponsors of the event with staff from local branches taking part and joining the team of volunteers to make the event happen.

Network Manager Rajan Malde commented, “At HSBC we have a passion for really supporting those who support others in the community and that is exactly what St Luke’s Hospice does. This is why we are so proud to sponsor and support the Midnight Walk.”

Bringing back the Midnight Walk is a fantastic way to make this an extra special year as St Luke’s celebrates 35 years of providing care in the Harrow and Brent area.

Early Bird discount entry prices are available until 30 May with tickets at only £17.50 (adult) and £7.50 (child). Usual ticket prices will be £20 (adult) and £10 (child).
