Six fire engines have rushed to Stanstead Road in Lewisham this morning to reports of a fire.
London Fire Brigade tweeted: “Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters have been called to a fire on Stanstead Road in #Lewisham. More information to follow.”

Posting via their website, the Brigade said: “Firefighters are tackling a fire in a three-storey block of flats, where part of the roof of a flat on the third floor is alight.
“There is traffic disruption on the South Circular between Elsinmore Road and the B128 Junction.
“The Brigade was called at 0852. Fire crews from Forest Hill, Lewisham, Greenwich and other surrounding fire stations are at the scene.
“The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.”
