Trafalgar Square in central London has been evacuated by police this morning.
People at the scene reported that a loud bang was heard and a suspicious package spotted, although this is yet to be confirmed.
One person tweeted: “Just been evacuated from our hotel in Trafalgar Square due to there being a suspicious car unattended outside #London”
Officers are currently at #TrafalgarSquare where they have evacuated the scene. Please do not travel to the area.

Police remain on scene. The incident has now been concluded and the square will reopen in due course.
